Rudy Roediger

Director of Operations/Media Relations - Albany, Ohio

Rudy Roediger

Rudy has spent the past five years within Ohio’s club, high school, and ODP soccer scene as a coach, administrator, and referee. Currently coaching the ‘91 and ‘97 Chaos Boys club teams and the ‘98 Wizards and finds time to work in the Charleston soccer community and is a proud member of Generation Charleston the young professionals group. Served as Piketon High School’s Athletic Director, for all 44 high school and junior high school teams. While Athletic Director also served as the varsity Head Boys soccer coach and led the team to first Sectional Championship match and first ever tournament victory. Left after two seasons as the all time winingest coach in school history. Took over Zane Trace High School leading them in ‘07 to a #9 State Ranking, third ROSECO Cup Championship and the schools fifth sectional final. Rudy’s efforts as a volunteer with the District Tournament and All-Star Games earned him selection as the Southeast District Soccer Coaches Association Vice President. Rudy, holds USSF Coaching and Refereeing Licenses, he will be going for his C coaching license and grade 6 Referee license in 2009. A standout for Alexander High School Rudy helped lead the Spartans to three straight Southeast Ohio District Titles, three straight Ohio High School Sweet 16 appearances and the best four year record in school history with 49 victories. Following his scholastic career Rudy attended Indiana Wesleyan University and was a member of their ‘99 Mid-Central Conference Championship, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Regional Finalist and National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Final Four Squad, picked up his first collegiate goal for the Wildcats in the Wildcats NCCAA Regional Championship match sending them to the NCCAA National Tournament. Transferred to Shawnee State University in ’02 to take Sports Management, was selected to the Men’s Soccer All-American MidEast team while leading the Bears in Game Winning Goals and finishing third in total points his final two seasons for the Bears.

Luke Ibbetson

Head Coach - Leeds, England (Costal Carolina ‘07)

Ibbetson, holds the Football Association Coaching Badge Level 1 and Level 2, and will be completing the USSF B License this year. Currently the Coastal Carolina Men’s Soccer Assistant Coach where he has been the Director of the Costal Carolina Soccer Academy, and the Assistant Director of Costal Soccer Camps. Upon arriving to Charleston coach Ibbetson began building the best PDL team in the Chaos history acquiring talent from around West Virginia, the United States and from around the world. In addition to his work with the PDL team coach Ibbetson also finds time to work with the local youth soccer players and coach the ‘95 Boys and ‘96 Girls Chaos Youth Teams.

In 2007 Ibbetson was instrumental in the Chants going a perfect 6-0-0 in Big South play, a feat not done in the last 11 years of the conference. Prior to joining the Costal Carolina University Men’s Soccer Coaching Staff he spent an eight year youth career playing for Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday and York City’s youth academies in England along with being in the Great Britain University's National Team Pool. After a three year contract with York City, he joined Lander University (Greenwood, South Carolina) for the 2003 season. Ibbetson led the Bearcats as team Captain and team MVP from 2003-2005 cumulating with the 2005 NCAA Division II Southwest Region Championship. In 42 appearances for Lander University Ibbetson scored 59 goals, leading the nation in scoring for 2005. Ibbetson was named to the NSCAA Second Team All-American Division II in ‘04 and ‘05 and was selected the Peach Belt Conference Player of the year in 2005. In 2006 for his senior year he joined Costal Carolina of the Big South Conference (NCAA I) and led them to the Big South Conference Semi-finals; he was named team MVP and earned Big South All-Conference Second Team honors while he led the Chants in goals (9) and points (20). Following the end of his collegiate playing career, Ibbetson signed a professional contract with the Wilmington Hammerheads of the USL-2 scoring two (2) goals in 11 appearances in the 2007 season.

Jack Thompson

Assistant Coach/Camp Director - Sheffield, England (Lander University ‘06)

Jack Thompson

Thompson began coaching at the age of 17 and has spent time in both the USA and England, and will be completing the USSF B License this year. Thompson is the head coach for the three time West Virginia State Cup Champion ‘90 Chaos Girls club team and finds time to work with the Chaos Challenge Academy and the Chaos ’91 Girls youth team.

In 2006 Thompson took the Recreation Manager position at Columbia United in Columbia, South Carolina where he was responsible for their 1600 recreation players from age 4 to 16.

Thompson’s playing career began in his native England for Nottingham Forest FC, Notts County FC, and Boston United FC in their youth academies before he joined Lander University in 2002. While earning a BA in Mass Communications at Lander, Thompson was a four year starter for the Bearcats Men’s Soccer Team making 70 appearances scoring 18 goals from his midfield position. In his final season with Lander he helped lead the Bearcats to the 2005 NCAA Division II Southwest Region Championship. Thompson left England in mid February to work for the Chaos leaving a job at European giant Sky Sports as a Media Consultant and his team Hallam FC where he was playing in the team’s midfield.

Craig Hansel

Team Athletic Trainer, ATC, CSCS (1st Year)

Craig Hansel

A graduate of the University of South Carolina at Aiken with a BS Exercise Science with a concentration in Athletic Training where he was a three year member of the Men’s Soccer Team. Obtained Certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (2001), worked as Active Fitness Center, Manager, Oak Hill, WV (2001- 2002), West Virginia University, Strength and Conditioning, Volunteer (2002-2003), HEALTHSOUTH Regional Rehabilitation Hospital, Athletic Trainer and Exercise Specialist, worked in-patient, out-patient and aquatic rehabilitation (2003-2007), Obtained Certification from the National Athletic Trainer’s Association as a Certified Athletic Trainer (2004), Joined Dynamic Physical Therapy and Hand Center (June 2007) and University of Charleston, Adjunct Professor (Spring 2008).

 

 

Adam Mitchell

Assistant Coach - York, England (1st Year)

Mitchell a licensed coach from York, England joins the Chaos as both a coach and a player following a professional playing career in England and Norway. Mitchell’s career began at 11 years old with York City FC, and for five years he represented the club at school boy level. At 16 years old he signed a three year contract with Halifax Town who in his three years the club gained promotion to League Two of the English Football League a tremendous achievement for the club. However following the promotion, Halifax Town turned to a new manager who did not renew Mitchell’s contract. Mitchell was disappointed and was faced with the tough decision on what direction his career would turn, he decided to leave his dream of professional soccer and become a part time semi professional and work a day job at the same time. Mitchell’s new club Pickering Town won promotion two seasons in a row while he won the Supporters Player of the Year as a semi professional before moving to Goole Town in the Unibond Division before making his first stop with Selby Town FC winning both the Players Player of the Year and the Managers Player of the Year. At the end of the ‘06/’07 season Mitchell received a call from FK Mjolner in the Norwegian Division 2 offering him a professional contract, Mitchell was pleased to join the professional side before opting to return to Selby Town later that season.

Dave Beasant

International Consultant/Talent Evaluator - London, England (1st Year)

Beasant’s playing career is best remembered for being the first goalkeeper to save an FA Cup Final penalty when captaining Wimbledon to their 1-0 win against Liverpool in the 1988 final. Over his illustrious career that spanned four decades and 14 different clubs Beasant had had stints with Chelsea, Newcastle, Spurs, Nottingham Forest, Portsmouth, Southampton and Wimbledon while earning two English National Team Caps playing behind David Seaman, Peter Shilton, and Chris Woods. In 2003 Beasant began his coaching career in the English Premier League when he joined Fulham F.C. at the clubs pre-season training camp in Austria and in the same year he joined the Northern Ireland National team and served both through 2007 as the teams’ goalkeeper coach.

Beasant sites his interest in the West Virginia Chaos from his time at Fulham FC, “I have always been interested in American players, having coached a number of their national players (Clint Dempsy, Brian McBride, and Carlos Bochanegra) at Fulham F.C. I am looking forward to seeing several matches this summer in person and hope to see some fresh talent.”

Beasant and the Chaos are working out details for Beasant’s trip to coincide with the Chaos Summer Camps. Beasant went on to say, “I am looking forward to bringing my experience and coaching knowledge to the Chaos and its soccer camps. The camps will be a fantastic environment for any young footballer who wants to develop their game and progress to the next level,” Beasant said while commenting about the new Chaos staff and their approach to player development and exposure that players will get in the USA and now in Europe through the new partnership.

Dirar “DA” Ahmad

Team Manager (6th Year)

Began playing Futball in the streets of Palestine looking up to local and international icons such as Pele. Moved to West Virginia in 1988 after attending the University of Iowa where he received a BS and MS Degree in Civil Engineering. Started his coaching career as South Charleston Junior High Coach, leading the team to five consecutive Kanawha County Titles before spending six years coaching and assisting South Charleston High School, during Ahmad’s tenure the high school team made five consecutive playoff appearances including a state title appearance. In addition to his duties working to organize team travel, training, player support he helps promote the team to the community and the players as positive role models. Ahmad continues to enjoy playing soccer in the Southern West Virginia Adult Soccer League.

Lloyd McIntyre

The Voice of the Chaos (3rd Year)

McIntyre is entering his third year as the Voice of the Chaos. He also assists with game day operations and serves as a consultant to the team. He has been involved in local soccer for over eight years as a coach, referee, board member, and officer. In real life, McIntyre is a bank examiner with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. He is a graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in Economics. His wife and two kids also enjoy being part of the Chaos family.

Denny Carney

Referee Liaison (5th Year)

Carney is a USSF Certified Referee Instructor, Assignor and Licensed Coach. Serves on the Sissonville Soccer Association Board and Referee Coordinator. Works as a WV High School and Middle School Referee, Southern West Virginia Adult Soccer League Referee and volunteers for PDL and W-League Referee Assignments when needed. Currently Coaches two recreational soccer teams (U10 and U14). His responsibilities with the Chaos include all aspects of communications with the in-coming assigned Pro Referee crew prior to the match with travel and through the duration of the match much like a 4th official, he also ensures that the field is properly prepared with markings, flags and nets. Carney also recruits the Official Chaos Spherical Retrieval Specialists (Ball Kids).
